LAS seeks an individual to help reposition the charity, ensuring its sustainability for the future. You will work with the board, membership, and wider sector to understand how best LAS delivers value.
Key tasks include:
1. To lead on planning of implementation of remaining actions from our strategic review, ensuring appropriate sector consultation, for agreement by Trustees.
2. To manage this implementation process.
3. To carry out information gathering and mapping to ensure LAS’s grasp of the sector remains secure.
4. Management of programmes as relevant.
5. Direct delivery of some facilitation/cascaded training, individual support, and networking.
6. Fundseeking for future programmes.
Resources to support you in succeeding in the contract include:
1. A committed and experienced group of trustees (LAS has recently refreshed its board and continues proactively to seek new members).
2. Significant knowledge and experience within the membership.
3. Previous strategic review documentation and planning.
4. A number of established programmes.
5. Good funder relationships.
Experience:
1. Proven project management experience, including in contexts of change.
2. Proven experience of budget planning.
3. A track record of successful fundraising.
4. Experience of working with a trustee board or similar governance framework.
5. Experience of working with diverse stakeholder groups.
Skills and knowledge:
1. First-rate communications skills (written and verbal).
2. Sound understanding of the literature sector in Scotland.
3. Sound understanding of Equalities, Diversity, and Inclusion.
Contract basis: 5 days per month over 16 months at £250/day (total value £20,000), worked flexibly. Travel/out-of-pocket expenses will be reimbursed subject to appropriate authorisation. You will be required to hold appropriate professional indemnity insurance. In the main, we anticipate you will work from home or other preferred base. Desk space may be available by arrangement with member organisations (for discussion). Some travel will be required.
