We’re seeking a compassionate full time SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist school in Maidenhead dedicated to supporting students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and associated learning needs ASAP. The school fosters an inclusive and supportive environment that helps children develop confidence and essential life skills. The successful candidate will work with primary and/or secondary students with additional needs. You will play a key role in providing tailored support and helping students thrive both academically and socially. This role involves one-on-one support, small group work, and assisting with the implementation of Individualised Education Plans (IEPs). Experience with children who have ASD, communication difficulties, and sensory processing needs is highly beneficial. Responsibilities: Provide classroom support to students with autism and other additional needs Assist with personal development, communication, and social interaction skills Support the teacher with lesson preparation and adapting materials as needed Help implement individualised education and behaviour support plans Foster a positive, structured environment to support learning and engagement Monitor and record student progress, working closely with teaching staff to adapt approaches Requirements: Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one) Safeguarding training A genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs Experience working with children, particularly those with autism or additional learning needs Ability to engage, encourage, and motivate students with varying needs Pay: £90-99 per day (inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay) Supply Hive is committed to fair pay and supporting our staff.
