Electrical, Controls & Instrumentation Team Leader - Power Station

MC Technical Recruitment are recruiting for an Electrical, Controls and Instrumentation Team Leader to join a newly commissioned energy from waste power station in Aberdeen. The EC&I Team Leader will form part of the maintenance team and will be responsible for the execution of all EC&I maintenance activities across the site to ensure maximum plant availability. This is a great opportunity to join a new build facility from the very start guiding the plant through the commissioning phase into commercial operation.
Roles and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, responsibilities will include:
1. Managing a team of EC&I Technicians responsible for all EC&I site maintenance work
2. Assisting in fault finding, repair work and planned and unplanned maintenance on all EC&I assets to maximise plant availability. This includes pressure, level, temperature and flow sensors, control systems and electrical equipment such as motors and variable speed drives
3. Working with the Mechanical Team Leader and Maintenance Manager in the planning and execution of planned and unplanned shutdowns
4. Assisting in the recruitment of the EC&I Technicians
5. Working with the site engineering team on plant improvement projects and upgrades
6. Assisting with annual reviews and appraisals of team members
7. Assisting during site outages/shutdowns when required
8. Maintaining accurate records using the site CMMS
Experience and Qualifications
1. An apprenticeship in electrical engineering or similar along with an HND/HNC level qualification
2. Proven hands-on maintenance experience across electrical, control and instrumentation maintenance in a relevant engineering environment - power plant, refinery, paper mill, steel works, chemical site etc.
3. Practical hands-on maintenance experience with electrical plant including motors, drives, transformers, DCS, PLCs and a variety of instrumentation
4. HV experience is desirable but not essential
5. Experience using CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management Systems)
6. Knowledge of relevant legislation e.g., health and safety and environmental etc.
