About the role:
In this Senior Accountant - Client Manager role, you will play a key part in managing client relationships, overseeing accounts preparation, and maintaining the high standards of service this practice is known for. If you're passionate about leading teams and managing client queries in a fast-paced environment, this could be the perfect fit for you.
You’ll work closely with senior managers and directors, helping to drive the firm forward while providing excellent service to clients. Your ability to manage deadlines, support junior team members, and build lasting relationships will make you an integral part of the team.
Key Responsibilities:
8. Liaise regularly with allocated clients, managing their queries and ensuring all records are to meet deadlines.
9. Review VAT returns prepared by the team, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
10. Conduct reviews of client accounts before handing them over for final review by senior management.
11. Prepare accounts to draft stage for limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships.
12. Prepare management accounts as needed for clients.
13. Conduct client visits to build strong relationships and gather essential information.
14. Assist other client managers with work planning and prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.
15. Prepare ad-hoc VAT returns when necessary, helping the team stay on track.
16. Support and help train junior team members, fostering the next generation of accountants.
Role Requirements:
17. Strong communication skills and the ability to maintain excellent relationships with clients and colleagues alike.
18. Proven experience in managing teams and effectively leading projects.
19. Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a busy environment.
20. Confidence in liaising with senior management and working collaboratively to achieve the firm’s goals.
21. High attention to detail and accuracy in all areas of work.
Qualifications & Experience Essential
22. Fully qualified member of a professional body such as ACCA, CA, CIMA, or ICAEW (via the examination route).
23. A full UK driving licence is required due to the need for client visits.
24. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
