The firm has a clear strategy for growth to 2030, which has created an exceptional opportunity for an experienced lawyer to join the firm as its first General Counsel in a strategic leadership role within the senior management team. Reporting primarily to the firm’s Senior Partner and as part of the partnership office, you will protect the firm’s interests by leading and managing the risk and compliance function of the firm and act as its independent legal advisor on a range of often complex and strategic matters related to the firm, its clients and the growth of the business.
You will be supported by a number of direct reports and will work closely with the Senior and Managing Partners and risk and operational groups within the firm as a key member of the firm’s senior leadership team.
In this broad strategic role, responsibilities will include:
1. Supporting the partnership office on a range of issues
2. Risk management
3. Compliance
4. Working for the LLP on a variety of commercial and legal issues
5. Conflicts and ethics
6. AML
The firm is looking for someone with at least 10 years’ post-qualification experience, particularly in areas of corporate, commercial, risk management and regulatory compliance. The role will ideally suit someone in a similar role with another leading law firm with an in-depth knowledge of and expertise in the regulatory environment in which law firms operate.
