Class 1 Delivery Driver/Labourer Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Location: Glasgow Rate Of Pay: £15ph Job Summary: We are seeking a reliable and experienced Delivery Driver/Labourer to join our clients team in Glasgow. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transport of goods to various destinations. You will ensure timely deliveries, perform manual handling tasks, and maintain compliance with all transportation laws and company policies. The ideal candidate will have excellent navigation skills, a strong understanding of road safety, and the physical fitness required for manual handling activities. Responsibilities: - Ensure timely delivery of goods to predetermined locations, reviewing all order details before departure. - Load and unload materials and equipment, verifying loads against orders and securing cargo for safe transport. - Maintain communication with the management team regarding delivery progress and status. - Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicle systems, equipment, and accessories, ensuring the vehicle is in proper working condition. - Follow delivery schedules as prepared by the management team. - Comply with lorry driving rules and regulations (size, weight, designations, parking, and break periods) and adhere to company policies and procedures. - Collect and verify all delivery instructions, handling paperwork such as collection and delivery notes. - Adhere to safety and environmental standards in all working conditions. - Maintain a clean and safe vehicle. Requirements: - Valid Class 1 lorry driving license. - Proven work experience as a lorry driver with a clean driving record. - Ability to drive the required hours. - Extensive knowledge of applicable lorry driving rules and regulations. - No recent moving or driving violations. - Aptitude for using logistics software to plan routes. - Strong time management and customer service skills. - Ability to carry out a range of manual handling activities.
