Credit Controller
Role Purpose
A new debt process structure is being implemented to enhance our debt recovery service that is provided to our lines of business. The team currently consists of 4 Credit Controllers and a Credit Control Supervisor. You will manage a high volume and value ledger. Be responsible for organising when debts fall under your ownership to chase and when to pass to our Bad Debt Controller. The work is driven by networking with the business and clients and building strong relationships with your contacts to ensure the payment of debts and resolution of all queries. The most important factor for us is to get the right person in that will fit into the team and make the new structure work. Therefore, we are open to and will consider candidates with experience or having the right attributes to start a new career in credit control.
Key Responsibilities
• Taking a proactive role in managing and collecting debts using proactive collection techniques.
• Adhere to all credit control processes and develop where necessary
• Effectively manage workload across portfolio of clients
• Promote and develop relationships with key contacts throughout the business and with our clients.
• Manage queries to resolution through investigation, reconciliation and escalation
• Hold regular meetings/con calls with property managers/surveyors to review client debt
• Recommend bad debt write offs where applicable
• Assist Treasury team with allocation of monies and maintenance of accounts
• Respond to relevant client enquiries
• Partner the business to reduce debt position
• Accurate records of all chasing activity
• Maintain mailboxes and ensure all queries cleared
Person Specification/Requirements
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to quickly form professional relationships with colleagues and clients at all levels of seniority
• Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing •
• Maintains a positive attitude towards routine tasks • Accurate and exceptional attention to detail
• Pro-active and enjoys working autonomously and as part of a wider team

• Ability to prioritise and co-ordinate tasks efficiently ensuring all deadlines are met

• Strong organisational skills
• Ability to achieve targets and strive for continual improvement
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Pivot tables and vlookups desirable Experience using other Microsoft Office applications (incl. Word, PowerPoint, MS Outlook).
• Experience with PeopleSoft
• Property knowledge would be advantageous
• Experience of working in a high volume, target driven environment
