Job overview
We are recruiting for a Registered Nurse - Ambulatory Care and Day Treatment QEII who shares our vision to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.

Main duties of the job
1. To correctly and safely perform the daily morning checks and document these.
2. To keep up-to-date with any link role information and actions that need to be done.
3. To prepare the patient’s environment, ensuring cleanliness and that the right equipment is present for the procedure.
4. To maintain the patient’s dignity and respect.
5. To involve patients' carers/relatives in the delivery of care.
6. Recognise and respond appropriately to urgent and emergency situations.
7. To be inclusive, respecting all patients, colleagues, and service-users.
8. To maintain compliance in statutory and mandatory training.

Qualifications/Training
* First level nurse on Part 1 of the NMC Register, educated to diploma level
* Willingness to successfully complete clinical post-registration education
* Commitment to lifelong learning
* Evidence of ongoing professional development
* Evidence of Leadership development
Previous Experience
* Previous experience of working in a ward or care environment
* Ambulatory Care or Medical day unit experience
Skills
* IV trained
* Ability to communicate effectively – both written and verbal
* Demonstrates a good standard of clinical care and ability to role model it for others
* Organisational skills
* Demonstrates a flexible approach to work
* Knowledge of vascular access devices or willingness to undertake competency to use devices
* Venepuncture and Cannulation
* Tissue viability and wound management knowledge
Knowledge
* Knowledge of local and national health care initiatives to improve patient care
* Knowledge of systems such as Lorenzo and ICE
* Awareness of current developments in nursing
* Awareness of resource management
* Anticoagulation knowledge
* Knowledge of haematology-related medications and conditions

* Ability to influence Ambulatory Care and Day Treatment services
* Ability to bring positive change to changing situations and workloads
* Ability to work rotational shifts (weekdays, weekends/bank holidays)
