Senior Land Surveyor Location: Inverness (Can work from home and live anywhere in Scotland) Salary: £30,000 £45,000 (depending on experience) A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Land Surveyor to join a forward-thinking surveying team operating across Scotland. This hybrid role offers an engaging mix of site, home, and office-based work ideal for a proactive and adaptable individual who thrives on variety. The client is a national surveying practice who have offices across the UK and have recently won some long-term projects. They are looking to establish a team in Scotland so this position will have the opportunity for progression as the Scottish business unit grows. The Role: You will lead the delivery of high-quality land and measured building surveys, working with some of the most advanced equipment and software available in the industry. From planning to final report, youll oversee all stages of survey projects, ensuring accuracy, safety, and client satisfaction. Key Responsibilities: Deliver topographical and measured building surveys using Total Stations, GNSS, and 3D laser scanning technology Manage the full survey lifecycle from scoping and risk assessment through to post-processing and client handover Create comprehensive CAD outputs and detailed reports using software such as AutoCAD, n4ce, and Pix4Dmatic Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures, including lone working protocols and RAMS Collaborate effectively with clients, project teams and stakeholders to meet project specifications Mentor junior surveyors, promoting skill development and professional growth within the team Stay up to date with technological advancements in surveying equipment and software Skills & Experience Required: Experience conducting and leading land surveys in a UK-based setting Competency with GEOMAX or LEICA Total Stations and GPS systems Strong CAD skills with knowledge of survey software such as AutoCAD, n4ce, and Pix4Dmatic Familiarity with laser scanning techniques (preferred) Capable of working independently and managing multiple projects to tight deadlines Understanding of health and safety procedures and documentation (e.g. RAMS) Full clean UK driving licence Level 3 Diploma in Engineering Surveying (or equivalent) desirable Whats On Offer: Competitive salary (based on experience and qualifications) Commercial fleet vehicle 25 days annual leave Bank Holidays Private medical cover Employer-contributed pension Sick pay and employee wellbeing days Volunteer days 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme (mental health, counselling & legal support) Flexible benefits including gym memberships, dental insurance, travel insurance and more Career development and training opportunities This is an excellent opening for a skilled surveyor to join a stable and growing business with genuine career prospects and a supportive environment.
