We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Assistant to join the integrated Pharmacy Team at HMP Wakefield, a Category A male prison in Wakefield. We are a short distance from Wakefield train station, and offer a 24 hour healthcare service.
Hours
This is apart time position, working 2 days per week, usually between 08:00 - 16:00.
Salary
This is a part time role, and the salary is £23,100 - £27,195 (pro rata) depending on experience.

Main duties of the job
As our new Pharmacy Support Worker / Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:
1. Provide high quality support to the supply, preparation and assembly of medicines under the direction of the responsible Pharmacist
2. Contribute to services such as medicine reconciliation, managing stock medicines and transportation of medicines
3. Provide support to ensure a safe and secure medicines management service, following policies, procedures and standard operating procedures
4. Be a key member of a multi-disciplinary team of healthcare professionals

Our new Pharmacy Assistant will:
16. Have a Level 2 Pharmacy qualification
17. Ideally have experience within a Pharmacy environment (such as community or hospital based), but this isn't essential
18. Any healthcare experience is a bonus, for example a care home or hospital
19. Have a non judgemental and compassionate approach
20. Ideally have medicines handling experience
21. Be a hard worker, diligent, with a high attention to detail
