Production Accountant | Documentary Production SME | London or Glasgow The Client Harmonic is pleased to be working exclusively with a multi-award-winning production business who are looking to welcome a Production Accountant to their team. Our client has developed a reputation for creating high-end, high-impact programming aimed at amplifying human perspectives and human stories. In addition to partnering with the likes of the BBC, Netflix, and Apple TV on exciting and impactful projects, they maintain their commitment to public-access broadcasting to ensure the accessibility of the stories they share. This business doubled their turnover this past year and are projected to continue this impressive growth trajectory in 2025. The Role This Production Accountant would be responsible for managing the finances for their ongoing projects while also supporting the business as they work to insource their finance function to support more sustainable growth. In this standalone role, you'd be working closely with a talented Head of Production to ensure that cashflow for their productions, as well as the wider business, is reported on and managed. This varied position entails bookkeeping, reconciling cost managers, cashflow monitoring, forecasting, managing expenses, ensuring accuracy across finance and accounting, and implementing new systems/processes. There will be many opportunities to work closely with production management teams, as well sharing frequent reports with the SMT. Our client is in the process of in-sourcing some of their finance function, however they plan to keep payroll, tax, and year-end within the remit of their accountants. That being said, they're looking for someone to hit the ground running and lead through this period of transformation. You'll have a real opportunity to make this role your own. The ideal candidate will be ambitious and excited to grow with the company over time, providing impressive progression opportunities to step into leadership roles in this SME. This is an opportunity for a seasoned production account to step into and grow within this role. Duties: Preparing project cashflows Overseeing and reporting on cashflow for the business Updating forecasts based on ongoing projects Reconciling Cost Managers based on production schedules Providing Cost Managers with monthly actuals and reviewing forecasts Managing the general ledger, and supporting with invoice processing and credit control as needed Process implementation and improvement Overseeing production expense cards (Soldo expense management) Take over the relationship with their bank, liaise with external accountancy firm Serving as point of contact and liaising with the wider business on finance/accounting Ad hoc tasks to support the Head of Production What we need to see (essential): Previous experience as a Production Accountant Previous experience working with SME's/smaller labels/production companies What we like to see (bonus): Previous experience working on factual and documentary productions Salary: £50,000-£55,000 Location: Central London or Glasgow Working Pattern: Hybrid - 4 days in-office, 1 day work from home (WFH) Please feel free to circulate this job opportunity with those in your network that that may be interested.
