Head of Music - Competitive Salaries - Outstanding School
An Ofsted Outstanding School in Merton is searching for a Head of Music to join their team in September. As Head of Music, you will be working with one other Music Teachers in the department, but working closely with the Drama department for whole-school performance and curriculum development.
This mixed school (11-18) has popular uptake of KS4 Music, with average class sizes of 25 at GCSE. Students are encouraged to engage in KS3 lessons and have access to pupil premium funded music tutoring from Year 7 onwards.
The current Head of Music is relocating out of the country, so we are searching for a confident, strong Music Teacher who can lead and develop the Music Department alongside mentoring a second year ECT. You will be joining a well-established, popular department that regularly puts on four shows a year alongside the Drama team.
This Head of Music position is suited to an experienced Music Teacher with at least both ECT years completed or two years teaching experience if you have trained via Teach First. This is a full time, permanent contract as Head of Music, taking over from the current Head of Music who is moving to a senior role within the federation.
