We have an exciting part time, 26 hours per week, opportunity for a Senior Pharmacy Assistant to join our Pharmacy Technical Services Department at Ipswich Hospital manufacturing pharmaceutical products for the Trust and external customers.
This post is based within our Pharmacy Manufacturing Unit (PMU) where you will assist the team in the manufacture of pharmaceutical products in sterile, non-sterile and aseptic and packaging in a clean room environment.
The Technical Services department manufactures and supplies a range of pharmaceutical products and provides quality and technical support to the Pharmacy Department and Trust as well as external customers.

For this role you will be required to lift and handle potentially heavy boxes, stand for long periods of time, work within a confined space and wear appropriate PPE including a clean room suit.
Duties will include:
• Lead and support daily work schedule for duties/tasks required
• To supervise and assist the day-to-day workload of pharmacy assistants
• Product pre-packing and resuscitation kit assembly
• Weighing/measuring of materials/liquids
• Preparation and filling of products
• Inspection and labelling of finished products
• Aseptic support duties.
• Assist with the preparation of Aseptic and Sterile products.
• Self-checking product and production documents for quality and completion prior to Quality Assurance checks.
• Liaising with customers over order discrepancies and concerns in a helpful and professional manner and refer them promptly to a senior member of staff
• Assisting in the sterilisation of products and components / consumables
• Assisting in packaging and dispatch of orders for customers.
• Conducting all activities in line with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Good Distribution Practice (GDP)
• Carrying out all cleaning and maintenance tasks
• Liaising with senior staff on prioritising workload.
