As a Paraplanner, you will play a pivotal role in supporting Financial Planners and Investment Managers by conducting research, performing calculations, and preparing detailed reports. Your efforts will contribute to delivering high-quality recommendations for clients and providing clear, actionable information for administrators and providers. This role requires exceptional analytical skills, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of financial planning strategies, regulations, and products. What Your Day to Day Duties Will Include: Conduct client risk assessments, research, analysis, and product selection within financial advisory services. Collaborate with Planners to develop holistic plans for complex financial planning needs. Prepare suitability letters and recommendation reports, covering investments, onshore and offshore bonds, SIPPs, protection plans, and occasionally VCT/EIS, BR, and DB SSAS. Perform planning tasks such as income planning, IHT and tax calculations, trust solutions, and cashflow planning. Conduct calculations for pension carry forward, Tapered Annual Allowance, IHT, CGT, and income tax. Manage project work, including transition projects for acquired client banks, encompassing report processing, document creation, and process management to completion. Handle time-driven task communications such as ISA/pension top-ups and CGT bed and ISA actions for platform clients, including client bank assessments and drafting suitability letters. Participate in team meetings and contribute to process improvements. Support ad-hoc projects and administrative tasks to enhance client service delivery. What is Needed to Be Considered For This Role: CII PFS Diploma qualification (or working towards it). Background in paraplanning within an advisory or investment management firm, with a strong understanding of regulated advice and investment management services. Strong numeracy and literacy skills, with GCSE grades A-C (or 5-9) in Maths and English as a minimum. Ideally educated to A-Level standard or equivalent. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with client record and database systems is advantageous. Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills. Critical thinker and problem-solver. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
