Principal Landscape Architect Working Pattern: 37 hrs per week Monday to Friday Location: West Bridgford, Nottingham NG2 (Hybrid) Are you an experienced Landscape Architect looking to make the move to a Principal role? Were currently seeking a Principal Landscape Architect to join our multi-disciplinary Environmental Management and Design team on a hybrid working basis, with the base location being at our Trent Bridge House office in West Bridgford, Nottingham. Vias Environmental Management and Design consultancy blends a range of specialist disciplines covering Landscape Architecture, Ecology, Geo-environmental, Acoustics and Specialist Engineering survey. About the role: As our Principal Landscape Architect, you will lead a team in the delivery of landscape design, environmental projects, landscape planning work and assessment services on a range of internal and external projects for both public and private sector clients. Youll manage the delivery of a wide and varied range of projects across landscape design, urban design and landscape planning, which may be complex and significant in nature. You will ensure that quality, programme and financial targets are met, and that customer and stakeholder requirements are achieved. This will include managing the provision of specialist landscape design input into colleagues, clients or third parties to support delivery of complex and large-scale projects across the organisation or externally. Leading the Landscape Architecture team, you will work with the Head of Environmental Management and Design and other senior colleagues to identify development and market opportunities to contribute to the growth of team services. You will prepare quotations, co-ordinate liaison with other team disciplines, contribute to companywide monitoring systems and support delivery of the company business plan objectives. In addition, we have a wide range of customers and stakeholders, so you would be expected to consult and communicate with a diverse range of people, including the public, elected members, and a professional network, to facilitate project delivery and maintain a positive company reputation. Candidate Requirements: Mainly you will be excited to be a part of our Environmental Design Team, but there are just a few other things wed like from you:- An accredited Landscape Architecture degree and either be a Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute or have equivalent post qualification experience / knowledge gained through practical experience in a design consultancy and ongoing CPD requirements eligible for Chartership. Ability to lead a team in a busy design consultancy, to make decisions and solve problems to meet team objectives and operational targets and be able to prioritise available team resources to meet the needs of the business. Thorough working knowledge of design standards appropriate to landscape design and environmental improvement schemes. Thorough working knowledge of health and safety, technical, planning and other legislation and good practice appropriate to hard/soft landscape projects and landscape planning. Excellent interpersonal skills to gain agreement and acceptance of others including colleagues, senior managers and clients. Ability to work collaboratively and actively involve colleagues and members of the team. Proven experience of all stages of project implementation from feasibility to construction on site. Strong ICT skills including competence in specialist computer applications used to support construction design activities including working knowledge of current computer aided design and GIS software packages.
