Our client are currently recruiting for a Mould Toolmaker. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, fabrication, and assembly of tools and fixtures used in manufacturing processes. This role requires a strong understanding of CAD software, particularly SolidWorks and AutoCAD, as well as hands-on experience with various machining techniques. The Tool Maker will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficiency and precision of our production operations. Our client may also be interested in speaking to a Toolmaker with less experience who is looking to take the next step in their career. Duties Design and fabricate tooling and fixtures according to specifications. Assemble and test tools to ensure they meet quality standards. Operate milling machines, lathes, and grinding equipment to produce precision components. Utilise hand tools for fine adjustments and finishing touches on tools. Collaborate with engineers to develop tooling solutions for new products. Maintain and repair existing tools to extend their lifespan and functionality. Ensure compliance with safety regulations while working in the workshop. Document all processes and modifications made during tool fabrication. Skills Proficient in CAD software, specifically SolidWorks and AutoCAD. Strong ability to fabricate tools using various machining techniques. Experience in tooling design, particularly for plastics injection moulding applications. Competence in assembling complex mechanical systems. Familiarity with milling, grinding, and other machining processes. Skilled in using hand tools for detailed work. Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
