Job Description:
The role of a Commercial Manager will be responsible for end-to-end service delivery, often for large infrastructure projects involving both private and public clients. The focus is on delivering value through effective commercial management.
Key responsibilities include liaising with clients and contractors, managing project costs, risk analysis, procurement, and providing commercial services throughout the project lifecycle from inception to completion.
The role requires flexibility to work across sectors, adapt to client needs, and travel within the UK and abroad as needed. Travel may be frequent and involve time away from home.
Here’s what you’ll do:
* Develop budgets, manage costs, and ensure alignment with project controls and PMO teams.
* Identify process improvements for cost control and governance.
* Engage with project staff and manage stakeholder expectations.
* Support close-out reporting and present findings to clients and supply chain.
* Travel to project sites nationally and internationally.
* Mentor junior staff and develop stakeholder skills in cost and commercial management.
Qualifications
What we’re looking for:
* Experience with NEC3 and NEC4 contracts.
* Proven track record in commercial management within collaborative project teams.
* Experience with project controls and PMO processes.
* Strong report writing and presentation skills.
* Experience working within client organizations, either directly or via secondment.
Your skills and experience should include:
* Delivering service excellence to clients.
* Experience in T&D sector is a plus.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and handle challenges in fast-paced environments.
* Strong interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement.
* Professional competence and ability to uphold company standards.
* Drive for performance and technical excellence.
* Ability to build and maintain client relationships and support business development.
