This is an exciting role for a dynamic individual to play a key role in the development and delivery of employability education in the School of Communication & Creativity (SCC). We are looking for an individual who is innovative in their approach to teaching and mentorship and a natural leader who will motivate, educate and inspire our talented students as they prepare for successful careers in the creative industries.
Responsibilities
* To take a leading role in the delivery of employability education and innovation in the School of Communication & Creativity (SCC).
* To lead, develop and deliver employability-related modules, supporting students to develop career focus, professional experience and the skills, qualities and behaviours identified by the City Graduate Attributes model.
Our Lecturer in Careers and the Creative Industries will be as comfortable leading a student workshop as they are working collaboratively with a team of educators; they will be able to move seamlessly from chairing a panel with industry guests, to acting as a personal tutor for students in the School; and they will use their extensive industry networks to develop and create engagement opportunities across the School.
Person Specification
We are looking for candidates with an honour’s degree and postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline. Candidates should either be an academic (from any media, cultural and creative industries background) with interests and a proven record in employability and career development; someone with experience within the relevant industries with an interest in higher education and teaching; or a HE employability professional with experience of teaching and learning in the curriculum.
