Detailed job description and main responsibilities

1. To ensure correct identification of patients.
2. To ensure the timely, efficient and courteous provision of imaging services within the available resources. This will involve booking of patient appointments, explanation of procedures, cannulation and injecting of patients, administration of oral, intravenous and inhaled radiopharmaceuticals, as well as operation of the gamma cameras and PET/CT scanner.
3. To provide both qualitative and quantitative results to agreed standards.
4. To ensure that all data analysis, hard copy production and archiving is performed in a timely, consistent and accurate manner.
5. To comply with written systems of work.
6. To ensure statutory and Trust standards for record keeping are adhered to.
7. To ensure the safety and wellbeing of patients and visitors within the department.
8. To adhere to the 'local rules' relating to radiation protection.
9. To ensure that statutory Departmental and Trust requirements for record keeping are met.
Person specification
Education/Qualifications
Essential criteria
* Degree (or post graduate qualification) in Nuclear Medicine.
* Evidence of clinical experience.
* Evidence of professional development.
Desirable criteria
* Appropriate state registration.
* Further Education.
Experience
Essential criteria
* Post graduate experience in Nuclear medicine.
* Previous PET/CT experience.
Skills Abilities/knowledge
Essential criteria
* Ability to express themselves clearly.
* Ability to write clearly and concisely.
* An eye for detail. Good judgement.
Desirable criteria
* Ability to use a range of computer software.
* Evidence of problem solving.
Personal Qualities
Essential criteria
