Hemswell Biogas is a large processor of food waste located in Lincolnshire and has been designed to handle a wide range of waste feedstocks and capable of producing 13.1MW energy generation. Through a process called Anaerobic Digestion it utilises the waste as a raw material to create methane, which in turn is used to generate both gas and electricity that is 100% renewable and exported to the national grid.

Overall Purpose of the Role:
The engineering team are responsible for the maintenance and repair of Processing machinery, AD process equipment, water treatment plant, buildings and site civils. They are also charged with optimising the performance of the AD process by interpreting analysis results e.g. methane content and H2S of Biogas and taking the necessary action. The individual working within the team of engineers need to ensure:
* Adherence to safe working practices
* Timely response to breakdowns
* High quality of maintenance and repair
* A proactive approach to improving machinery efficiency and effectiveness
* Out of hours engineering support (that include weekends) is detailed in the call-out rota
Key Areas of Responsibility:
* Adhere to the Site Health & Safety policy in all work activities
* Completing Planned Maintenance tasks and recording of corrective actions on the computer-based Maintenance system
* Ensuring that punctuality is maintained at an acceptable level.
* Reaction to breakdowns ensuring quickest possible response and rectification
* Scheduling and organisation of maintenance and improvement works
* Liaising with suppliers to source critical parts
* Ensure all breakdowns are recorded, along with the time and type
* Ensure stock levels are maintained to a reasonable economic level; that common failure parts are available by identifying spares required with upcoming issues being identified to the Lead Engineer / Plant Manager
* Supervise contractors ensuring safe systems of work are followed
* Responsible for equipment repairs / refurbishment including any new installations and fabrications work
* Completion of timely, accurate paperwork
* Assistance with project work with Engineering Manager
* Follow company procedures
The ideal candidate will be a trained TIG Welder, with experience of stainless steel TIG welding, will have worked in a similar industry and must have relevant engineering and electrical qualifications to back up experience gained within this field. Candidates should have the ability to communicate effectively and have a proactive and methodical approach to projects and tasks.
Working Time: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday + call out/on call rota + additional needs of the business
Starting Salary: £37,500 increasing to £41,864.73 upon a successful probationary period.
