Job responsibilities Regularly provides technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendors Own and deliver end-to-end, scalable, high quality and secure solutions in the form of cloud-native microservice architecture applications, leveraging modern technologies and the best industry practices. Practices and promotes a rich testing strategy including but not limited to unit, integration, component level and E2E functional testing. Drives decisions that influence the product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes Contributes to the problem at hand, even when outside their area of specialty. Actively contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle Influences peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of latest architecture trends Adds to the team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and advanced applied experience Practical expertise in Java Spring / Spring Boot. Experience building RESTful APIs and (micro)services with frameworks like Spring Boot. Hands-on practical experience delivering distributed complex system design, application development, testing, and operational stability. Experience building solutions on AWS and Terraform. Experience working on globally distributed applications with strict consistency requirements and stream processing with Kafka. Experience with a modern CI/CD like Jenkins Experience with modern version control platform such as GitHub. Experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills Experience driving requirement refinement with product and working with Stakeholders. Experience building and deploying on Kubernetes (or some other container orchestration platform). Experience using both relational databases (e.g. Postgres) non-relational databases (e.g. DyanamoDB).
