Job Title: Team Leader Location: Hawthorn House, London, UB6 Salary: £15.70 per hour (40 hours per week) Sleep-in shifts paid at £70.50 per shift Job Type: Full-time, Permanent About the Role: We are looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate Team Leader to join our dedicated team at Hawthorn House. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about leading a team to provide the highest standard of care for young people in a residential setting. As Team Leader, you will work alongside the management team to oversee the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring the well-being and development of the children and young people we care for. You will also be responsible for supervising, mentoring, and supporting the care staff team, ensuring that the home operates in line with Ofsted regulations and company policies. Key Responsibilities: Lead and supervise the care staff team, ensuring high standards of care and support are provided to young people. Oversee the day-to-day care and support of children, ensuring individual care plans are followed and regularly updated. Provide guidance and mentoring to staff, supporting their personal and professional development. Ensure that safeguarding and child protection procedures are strictly adhered to at all times. Contribute to staff recruitment, induction, and training to ensure a well-equipped and skilled care team. Ensure the home’s environment is safe, nurturing, and conducive to the emotional and physical well-being of the young people. Monitor and maintain accurate records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements such as care plans, incident reports, and daily logs. Participate in case reviews and care plan meetings to contribute to the ongoing development and support of young people in the home. Work within a variable shift pattern across 7 days of the week, providing flexibility to support the needs of the home. A fixed shift pattern is not available. Provide support to young people in activities, education, and life skills development, encouraging positive behavior and engagement. Essential Qualifications & Experience: Must hold a Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare. Experience working in a residential childcare setting, particularly with young people in care. Previous experience in a supervisory or team leader role, supporting and managing care staff. Strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and Ofsted regulations. Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with young people, staff, and external professionals. Desirable Skills: A full, valid UK driving licence (strongly favourable). Experience working with young people with emotional and behavioral difficulties (EBD). Working Hours: This role works on a variable shift pattern, including weekends and evenings.
