The Role Assistant Shift Manager Working as an operator on a 3-shift rotation pattern the Assistant Shift Manager will be responsible for driving Health & Safety culture, Plant performance, improving quality standards and operating to a high standard. Other key elements of the role involve: • Driving a culture of Health & Safety and quality adherence by acting as a role model • Working closely with the Shift Manager, sales, customer services and planning to ensure an excellent customer focus is paramount to the running of the Shift. • Managing the people resources within area of responsibility working closely with the Shift Manager, covering as Shift Manager during their absence. • Excellent communications with all key areas assuring good quality shift handovers take place. • Monitoring the shift performance carrying out proactive problem solving. • Working closely with the Weston’s Operations team ensuring standardisation and application of best practices. • Being able to accept and embrace change, leading continuous improvement projects. • Intermediate knowledge of IT.
