About the School:
Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant for a challenging SEN school in Coventry. This specialist SEN school provides an inclusive and supportive environment for children aged 11 to 16 with a range of needs, including autism, challenging behaviours, and learning difficulties. Some students may require support with personal care, so applicants must be comfortable assisting with this aspect of the role. Additionally, swimming is part of the school’s curriculum, and you must be willing to support students during these sessions.
What We’re Looking For:
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of psychology and SEN, combined with a genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of young learners.
* A minimum of GCSE Maths and English (Grade C/4 or above)
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
* The ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Patience, resilience, and a positive attitude
* A willingness to support pupils with personal care and swimming sessions
* An enhanced DBS on the update service
Key Responsibilities:
* Supporting teaching staff in delivering engaging lessons
* Working with small groups and providing 1:1 support
* Helping to monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers
* Encouraging positive behaviours and fostering a supportive learning environment
