The award winning Pharmabees project works with schools across South Wales to raise awareness of the importance of pollinators, such as bees. To support a future REF impact case, we are keen to assess the success of the project to date by undertaking a retrospective analysis of past engagement activities. We are seeking a research assistant who will undertake the following duties:
* The candidate will have a social science background with experience of capturing data from a variety of sources.
* They will be responsible for constructing a database of all Pharmabees related activities such as case studies, user surveys, social return on investment, product development (volume of sales, jobs created) and media citations.
* Using appropriate analytical tools, they will assess the quantitative and qualitative impact of evidence in the database in the context of a future REF impact case.
* Based on any gaps identified following the analysis, they will work with the PI to develop a plan to collect the missing information.
* Assist the PI in the development of a 5-year plan for the Pharmabees project aligned with the university’s priorities.
The successful candidate will work remotely (UK only) and will be engaged for a period of 229 hours spread across the period 10/03/25 to 30/05/25.
Person Specification
We are seeking an individual with a background in a social science discipline with experience of quantitative and qualitative data analysis, with an interest in nature and the education of young children. Postgraduates are particularly welcome to apply as this role may suit the skills developed over your studies.
