You will be expected to undertake the professional duties and responsibilities of a SENCo. Under the direction of the Headteacher, you will be responsible for the coordination of specific provision to support individual pupils with SEN or a disability and the associated processes. You would also be a member of the Senior Leadership Team You will: have a qualified teacher status and at least 2- 5 years’ experience working as a SENCo possess or be working towards the NASENCO or equivalent qualification have experience of completing EHCP applications and paperwork have the ability to communicate clearly with pupils, parents, staff and Governors have the ability to create an enabling learning environment for pupils have active listening skills have understanding, sensitivity and empathy with pupils and parents have the ability to remain calm in stressful situations have the ability to be flexible. You will be instrumental in working within the Grace Cook team as well as working closely with the OMAT SENCo group.
