Herefordshire Council are looking for a head of service to join their council. This is a full-time leadership position!
Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee complex safeguarding and legal case challenges.
2. Ensure compliance with the Care Act and related legislation.
3. Oversee safeguarding enquiries, adhering to Making Safeguarding Personal principles.
4. Collaborate with partners to deliver high-quality services.
5. Oversee social work teams and ensure operational spend is managed and performance.
6. Undertake any duties commensurate with role.
7. Have good knowledge and skills in adult social work.
8. Work as part of the senior leadership team.
9. Support the teams through change management.
Qualifications:
Registered Social Worker with professional qualification.
Experience:
Strong background in adult social work, safeguarding, legal frameworks, and team leadership.
Skills:
Excellent decision-making, interpersonal, and negotiation abilities.
This is a critical leadership role requiring immediate availability.
