Wood is recruiting for a Senior Project Manager to join our Operations team. You will create delivery excellence across the assigned project, provide certainty and confidence to the customer and robust control of project scope, schedule, cost and risk.
We are open to considering both staff or contract for this role. This role can be based in Stockton/ North East / Leeds.
Responsibilities
The Role
As a Senior Project Manager, you will maintain effective relationships with all contributors on the project, guiding and motivating to ensure a successful delivery to the client.
You will have P & L responsibility with associated commercial and financial accountability including revenue delivery, margin and overhead management, budget and forecast determination and attainment, risk and opportunity reviews, cost controls, accounts payable / billing and cash collection.
You will promote a performance improvement culture and will mentor and empower others.

The Operations business, of which our Stockton office is part of, can offer a wide range of opportunities which will allow you to develop your skills across a portfolio of onshore projects in different sectors. Our current portfolio includes green hydrogen and fuel switching, as well as supporting local clients with energy transition. Additionally, we work on UK refineries, petrochemical facilities, fine chemicals and pharmaceutical facilities. We have a number of clients who we are working with to design their pilot plants to test exciting new technologies, with a view to partnering with them as they move to design and build full-scale commercial facilities.

Responsibilities
* Contribute to and review the project proposal and plan to determine the timeframe, procedures for accomplishing the project, staffing requirements, and available resources to various phases of the project
* Negotiates changes to project scope or specifications with the customer. Follows the Change Management process to identify and approve modifications to scope, cost, schedule and quality
* Establishes project procedures and leads production of a project execution plan including the scope of work, deliverables list, master schedule, budget, org charts, risk register etc
* Leads ongoing focus on risk identification and mitigation during project execution
* Responsible for the project HSSE leadership, ensures a program of initiatives and auditing schedule are established and that HSSE and quality management issues are proactively addressed
* Facilitates the setup of information management systems / applications as applicable to suit various life phases of projects and manages information management project team
* Participate in assurance activities and peer reviews Leadership
* Is a champion and role model for ethical behaviour and compliance with applicable laws and policies
* Oversees proposals and call-offs (may be individual projects) within the delegation of authority, ensuring compliance with contracting policy and standards of ethical conduct

Expected
* Degree-qualified with extensive experience in managing projects and project personnel
* Thorough understanding of project management techniques and practices
* Understanding of project goals, drivers and strategies
* Experience in developing and implementing measures of success and benefits on multiple projects
* Knowledge of prioritising stakeholders and the development of stakeholder management plans
* Well-versed in qualitative assessment methods and able to use common estimating techniques to derive estimates and costs on standard projects
* Strong influencer, negotiator and mediator, flexible to adapt and respond to changing context and make decisions
* Pragmatic in approach with a strong commercial bias and ability to balance commerciality with operational excellence
Desirable
* Project Management Professional (PMP), associate in project management (APM) or equivalent certification is preferred
