An excellent opportunity has arisen to work as an Empowerment Advisor in an award-winning, trauma-informed, dynamic, expanding, high-profile women’s charity – Tomorrow’s Women (TW). TW delivers a comprehensive, women-centred approach to minimising female imprisonment and offending. It does this by offering a safe ‘women only’ environment and by reducing the personal, social, health, and economic disadvantages experienced by women through working in partnership to improve access to all relevant services and community resources, tailoring target interventions to the individual women’s needs.
We are a charity for women, run by women, offering support with a range of issues including domestic abuse, mental health, substance misuse, wellbeing & confidence, and social inclusion. We have a passion to support and empower women and girls from all backgrounds facing any personal issues, to live equal and fulfilled lives.
Candidates must have a strong commitment to the aims of the charity, to tackle the factors that lead to offending behaviour, support choices that improve women’s life chances, and be familiar with the recommendations of the Corston Report.
Main Purpose of the Role
The purpose of the role will be to engage with and support a caseload of female clients, some of whom are within the Criminal Justice System, to support and facilitate the removal of barriers for women to progress safely in their lives.
The Empowerment Advisor will be a key player in the core staff team. The successful post holder will require excellent communication skills, demonstrate resilience, ability to work under pressure, and excellent interpersonal skills to deal with a range of internal and external stakeholders, partners, and beneficiaries. Additionally, the candidate will be able to work independently using initiative and in a timely manner.
