An excellent opportunity has been made available by my client, an established housing provider in the UK. My client has a large portfolio of supported living projects and offers generic housing management and supported housing services.
Vacancy Brief:
* The vacancy is that of a Young People Support Worker.
* This is a potential temp to perm vacancy.
* Full time, 35 hours per week.
* This post will be shift-based, working on a rota of 8am - 6pm.
* Candidate must be flexible to work across the week.
* Pay rate for this job role is £13.72 per hour on PAYE OR £17.83 Umbrella.
* Mileage will be paid at 0.45p per mile for any work-related travel; business insurance is needed to claim mileage.
* Full UK Driver’s License and access to a vehicle is preferable.
* A current Enhanced DBS covering Child and Adult workforce will be required for this job role.
* Service User group is 16 – 18 or up to 21 if leaving care.
* Typical example of working pattern is below:
Week 1: Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday.
Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
Week 3: Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
The Responsibilities:
* As a Young People Support Worker, you will provide frontline support work 1-2-1 with one or two young people in a home environment.
* In your job role as a Young People Support Worker, you will be supporting young people to enhance their independent living skills.
* Part of your job role will be to tailor person-centred action plans based upon any needs identified.
* An important part of your job role will be to offer support and guidance to the young people throughout, empowering them to be independent.
* Furthermore, you will be keeping documents and paper trails up to date and documenting all support with the young people within their dedicated support file.
Skill Outcomes of this role:
This role provides an excellent springboard into other criminal justice professions, including experience of working with a range of criminal justice agencies.
In addition, you will gain experience in liaising with local authority Housing Benefit departments and the DWP to resolve financial issues.
