We are seeking to recruit Student Support Assistants passionate about supporting children with special needs at a SEN school in Hailsham. This brand new school is housed in a purpose-built facility, with roles across various age ranges.
You will be part of a team responsible for developing and delivering innovative provisions for children who struggle in mainstream education, requiring a nurturing and positive approach to achieve the best outcomes.
Ideal candidates are devoted, resilient, and able to utilize therapeutic teaching strategies combined with caring and nurturing classroom and behavior management skills. Candidates should have a strong commitment to meeting the needs of pupils with behavioral, emotional, learning, or social communication difficulties. The ability to motivate pupils towards achievement, along with excellent organizational and communication skills, is essential.
Role Purpose and Responsibilities
The Support Staff for Conflict Resolution and De-escalation plays a crucial role in maintaining a safe and supportive environment within our SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) therapeutic school. This role involves de-escalating conflicts promptly and effectively, resolving issues, and enabling pupils to return to their learning activities. Duties may evolve over time based on the school's needs.
