Your new role
The role involves delivering high-quality Computer Science lessons to students across a range of year groups, ensuring they are engaged and supported in their learning. Key responsibilities include planning and delivering lessons aligned with the curriculum, assessing student progress, and preparing them for exams. The successful candidate will foster a positive learning environment, manage classroom behaviour effectively, and collaborate with colleagues to maintain continuity within the department.
Proficiency in programming and knowledge of the subject area are essential, along with strong organisational and communication skills. This is a temporary position to cover maternity leave, requiring flexibility, adaptability, and a commitment to maintaining high teaching standards.
What you'll need to succeed
* Strong Subject Knowledge: A solid understanding of Computer Science, including programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, or similar), algorithms, and key curriculum topics.
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): A recognised teaching qualification and experience teaching Computer Science at secondary school level, including GCSE and A-level.
* Effective Communication Skills: The ability to explain complex concepts clearly, engage students, and build positive relationships.
* Classroom Management: Proven skills in creating an inclusive and well-managed classroom environment that fosters learning and participation.
* Flexibility and Adaptability: The capacity to step into a temporary role seamlessly and adjust to the school's systems, policies, and ethos.
* Passion for Education: A genuine enthusiasm for teaching and inspiring students to develop a love for Computer Science and technology.
