Your new role Southend City Council's Corporate Finance Team are looking to appoint a permanent, full-time (37hrs) Finance Business Partner.This post will be based within an established and friendly team with the opportunity of a hybrid working pattern (predominantly working from home, but with the option to work from the Civic Centre premises as required).The successful candidate will support the Corporate Finance Manager in providing a full range of accountancy information and services for Council Directorates and Portfolio holders in accordance with departmental standards and timetables set. You will act as Finance Business Partner for the accountancy business, ensuring a technical solution focussed response to issues raised with regards to systems, chart of accounts structure, budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling and performance reporting. What you'll need to succeed To be shortlisted for this position, you must be CCAB accredited. You will also need to have proven experience of working within a busy Finance/ Accounting team or have transferable skills from a similar environment. You will be able to demonstrate skills in relation to maintaining effective partnerships with both internal and external stakeholders, and evidence collaborative working and supportive relationships with a wide variety of partners. Along with this, it would be beneficial to have experience in financial arrangements relating to services provided by local authorities. Confidentiality in this post is also essential, as you will be dealing with highly sensitive information.
