As a Cook for Sodexo at John Kyrle High School, Ross on Wye, you will assist the Cook Manager to oversee all aspects of the food and beverage operations as well as the finances for your school’s kitchen. You will support the Cook Manager in ensuring you showcase what the kitchen supplies, presenting it in the most eye-catching way possible, ensuring we are offering the best service possible. What you do : Prepare, cook, present, and serve food to company standards which may include breakfast, morning break, lunch, and hospitality. You will adhere to all company compliance (such as Food safety, Health and Safety, Allergen awareness, COSHH and HACCP regulations). To carry out craft/ skills training for catering staff. To ensure that all service counters and food is presented to company standards. To guarantee that each dish served is portioned according to business requirements. To complete daily/ weekly cleaning duties as instructed by the line manager and this includes all food preparation and storage areas, all catering communal areas. Removal of waste from catering area. Deliver exceptionally high standards in customer service, cleanliness, tidiness, and other operational activity. What you bring : A minimum of 1 years of experience in hands on cooking, training on Food Hygiene, and Health & Safety will be given. Must have expertise on cooking on a large scale, anywhere between 100 – 1300 students. Have experience following recipes, possibly in a similar setting. Have experience working with fresh produce and ingredients. Be aware of the importance of adhering to health and safety procedures. Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines in a busy Kitchen environment. Be professional, leading by example and having a positive outlook is key.
