About the role You’ll be part of the Estates Services Team, working as a Shift Supervisor with responsibility for the Estates Services Officer on duty to look after our Estate. During your shifts you’ll supervise and be part of the team that monitors and patrols our 6-acre site, providing excellent customer service to visitors of Millennium Square Car Park, and all our open spaces, as well as looking out for and reporting any suspicious incidents, dealing with vehicles on site and issuing parking enforcement tickets when needed, as well as providing first level fault-finding for our car park equipment. From our Estates Services Control Room, you’ll monitor our CCTV and manage our fire alarm systems and access control software, and be a first point of contact for contractors and visitors to the site The Estates Services team work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year covering the entire We the Curious site providing a secure, safe, and friendly environment for all visitors, staff and users of the open spaces. The We The Curious site consists of the main building along with our open spaces and a 500 place 2-level subsurface car park, and tenanted buildings. Our open spaces are private land but have no physical barriers, allowing full public access. The open spaces have several artworks, statues and sculptures, together with large accessible water features. What will you do in this role? _Manage the day-to-day running of the Estates Services shift, ensuring team members are supported to complete tasks. Offering guidance and instruction when needed. You will look after the Estates Services Office /Control Room, from where you and the team will monitor CCTV, Alarm Panels and Access Systems. _You will be responsible for receiving writing and delivering the shift handover and maintaining the shift occurrence report, including monitoring, and recording any updates on Teams, IAM, and Outlook. _You will be responsible for the management of Millennium Square Car Park, providing a point of escalation for customer issues and complaints, fault finding, and cash handling duties at the end of the shift. _Provide a visible presence on site, patrolling all areas in accordance with company policy, you will ensure a deterrent for anti-social behaviour and crime as well as assistance for members of the public. _Ensure security concerns, maintenance issues, and health & safety hazards, accidents, and observations are recorded and reported appropriately and dealt with effectively. _You will be responsible for undertaking checks of safety equipment such as fire extinguishers and first aid kits ensuring compliance. _Manage any out of hours emergency situations in accordance with the Crisis Management Plan. Including but not limited to loss of power, flooding, fire, and security threats. _Manage the control of vehicles and vehicle access around site; including but not limited to; providing access to restricted areas, managing above ground parking requests, issuing permits, issuing PCN’s. _Oversee general access to site including issuing PAC passes and keys, communicating contractor or visitor arrival with WTC staff, managing deliveries to and from site. You will also ensure any contractors working out of hours have had the necessary safety inductions and are behaving appropriately. _Help coordinate our emergency evacuation procedures, which include We The Curious, Car Park and Aquarium General responsibilities _Safeguarding - Responsible for carefully following safeguarding policies and procedures and raising any concerns to manager/Designated Safeguarding Officer. _General responsibility for departmental compliance with GDPR. _General Training – you will need to participate in all company mandated training courses including IAM health and safety courses, policy and compliance training, People Team and cyber security courses. _Specific Training – you may be asked to undertake additional job specific training such as SIA CCTV and Security Guard. _Attend department meetings every quarter. _General housekeeping – ensuring the Estates Service office, Car Park and Open Spaces are kept clean and tidy, liaising with the cleaning team where necessary. _General housekeeping – ensuring stationary supplies and kitchen consumables and refreshments are topped up through-out the site. _General activities – from time to time you may also be asked to assist with other Estates Department related activities. _Due to the responsibilities of this role, you will be required to complete and enhanced DBS check. What we're looking for from you _Due to the security element of the role, the SIA CCTV Training and/or SIA door supervisor / Security guard qualifications would be desirable, although training can be provided. _Experience in a customer service role and a passion for providing great customer service and/or _Experience in a role dealing with security, including mitigating risk, proactively watching for suspicious behaviour and investigating issues as the occur. _Ability to lead a team and co-ordinate emergency situations. _Confident managing initial maintenance and health and safety issues prior to the arrival of contractors or in-house maintenance teams. _You’ll have a helpful and flexible attitude, especially when dealing with members of the public, and have an ability to remain calm under pressure. _Good communication skills. _Good knowledge of computer-based systems (Microsoft Office, email, CCTV software, till software, etc).
