About the role:
An opportunity has arisen for a Full-time Head Housekeeper at Carleen Nursing Home in Portchester.
Numada Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Head Housekeeper to lead our housekeeping and laundry teams. You will play a crucial role in ensuring high standards of cleanliness, infection control, and staff management. Your commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and supportive environment for both residents and staff will be key to the success of the team.
Responsibilities:
The appointed person will be responsible to:
* Lead, supervise, and support the housekeeping and laundry staff to ensure high standards of cleanliness and laundry services.
* Organize and oversee cleaning rotas, allocate tasks, and manage daily operations.
* Conduct a minimum of four supervisions per year for each team member and complete annual appraisals and performance evaluations.
* Monitor staff training needs, ensure core training is up to date, and support professional development.
* Take the lead in infection prevention and control (IPC) and conduct IPC and cleaning audits as required.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including the safe storage and handling of cleaning substances as per COSHH guidelines.
* Develop strong working relationships with all staff and participate in the induction and training of new employees.
* Maintain records, address maintenance issues, and ensure the safety and well-being of all service users.
Your shift will be from 8am - 3pm or 9am - 4pm. You may work every weekend if you're available; otherwise, you'll be required to work alternate weekends.
Requirements:
* The right to work in the UK.
* Vocational qualification in Cleaning and Support Services is preferable.
* Experience working in a care home environment is desirable.
* Previous experience of working as a housekeeper or in a supervisory role is a must.
* Reliable, considerate and caring with passion to help others
* Have excellent communication skills, be a great team player, be flexible and have can do attitude.
* Understand and support individuals' care needs, following safeguarding procedures.
* Demonstrate compassion, professionalism, and a commitment to dignity, equality, and privacy.
* Be proactive, reliable, and organized, with strong time management skills.
* Maintain accurate cleaning schedules and plan staff rotas to meet service needs.
