Job summary You will be working as part of the day surgery team delivering exceptional care for the patients attending the unit. Day case surgery is becoming more common, it now makes up approximately 70% of all surgery performed. We therefore are looking for a dynamic and dedicated Band 5 Day Surgery Nurse to join our team on Mayhill Unit. Main duties of the job Our patients will expect, and will receive, the highest standards of professional care by all members of the team. You will work in a clinical environment and provide a high standard of patient care, whilst being able to assess and prepare both major and day surgery patients prior to undergoing elective surgery either under local or general anaesthesia. You will provide post-operative care to day case patients and ensure a safe discharge home the same day. You will also liaise with the MDT, to ensure a positive patient experience and optimal surgical outcome.
