Looking to spend more time on-site and less time battling traffic between locations? This is the role for you!
A leading Health & Safety contractor, known for its commitment to safety and quality, is looking for a skilled Health & Safety Consultant to join its team. In this role, you will be providing essential Health & Safety support directly on-site across the Yorkshire region.
You will be responsible for ensuring that construction sites are operating safely and in compliance with all relevant Health & Safety regulations. As a contractor, you will be on the ground, conducting site inspections, risk assessments, audits, and providing guidance to ensure safe working practices are being followed. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on, dynamic environment and is passionate about making a tangible difference in safety standards across construction sites.
What will you do?
1. On-Site Health & Safety Oversight: You will be directly responsible for ensuring that construction sites across Yorkshire adhere to all Health & Safety regulations. This includes conducting regular inspections, performing risk assessments, and managing compliance with safety standards. You will be actively on-site, ensuring safety procedures are being followed at all times.
2. Risk Assessments & Audits: You will carry out comprehensive risk assessments, identifying hazards and recommending actions to mitigate risks. Additionally, you will complete Health & Safety audits to ensure the site meets all regulatory requirements.
3. On-Site Guidance: As the Health & Safety point of contact on site, you will provide practical, on-the-ground support to the site management and workers. You will monitor safety practices, advise on best practices, and ensure safety protocols are being followed correctly.
4. Ensuring Compliance: You will work to ensure that construction projects are fully compliant with Health & Safety laws and regulations. This will involve preparing and reviewing documentation, ensuring all workers are trained in relevant safety procedures, and addressing any concerns promptly.
5. Autonomy & Flexibility: This is a regional role where you will be responsible for managing your own schedule. With a focus on on-site presence, you'll have the flexibility to plan your time across different locations while ensuring all safety checks and tasks are completed on time.
What do we expect from you?
1. Construction Health & Safety Experience: Experience working in a Health & Safety role, particularly within the construction sector, is essential. Whether you've worked as an Advisor, Consultant, or in a similar capacity, you should be comfortable working directly on-site to ensure safety compliance.
2. NEBOSH Construction Certificate: The NEBOSH Construction Certificate (or an equivalent qualification) is highly desirable and reflects your expertise in construction-specific safety requirements.
3. On-Site Safety Expertise: You should be well-versed in managing health and safety risks and ensuring compliance across construction sites, with a practical understanding of safety regulations and the ability to enforce them effectively.
4. Adaptability & Attention to Detail: Each site may present different challenges. You'll need to be adaptable, proactive, and able to work independently to identify and resolve potential safety issues.
5. Commitment to Safety Standards: You will need to demonstrate a strong commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, ensuring all risks are identified and mitigated, and ensuring compliance with Health & Safety regulations across each site you oversee.
What we offer:
1. Competitive Salary & Benefits: Salary of up to £46,000, depending on your experience, along with a car allowance.
2. Flexible Working: This regional role gives you the flexibility to manage your schedule, working directly on construction sites while balancing your personal commitments.
3. Professional Development: Our client offers ongoing training and development opportunities to ensure you stay up-to-date with the latest Health & Safety regulations and industry standards.
4. Impactful Role: This is a hands-on, essential role where you will directly contribute to the safety and well-being of workers on construction sites, ensuring high standards of compliance across every project you're involved in.
If you're passionate about construction safety, enjoy being on-site, and want a role that allows for flexibility and autonomy, we'd love to hear from you.
