Salary: 70,000 - 70,000 GBP per year Requirements: I am looking for candidates who can demonstrate the following capabilities: The ability to nurture and lead a team of typically 5-10 developers (software and verification & validation). A proven track record of technically managing a team of software developers. Strong project management skills to ensure good planning, delivery, and cost control of software projects. Effective communication skills at all levels in the company across various mediums, including reporting on progress, blockers, and achievements. An understanding of traditional software development methods like waterfall as well as Agile/SCRUM. Experience in project management or software project management, covering aspects such as: - Reporting progress through metrics like burn-up charts, team velocity, cycle times, and workload forecasts. - Planning and budgeting software projects. - Managing and tracking software projects. Experience with continuous build, integration, and delivery pipeline automation using industry-leading toolsets. A technical/software background with experience in a technology environment where quality and accuracy are essential. Some experience with mobile communications is desirable but not essential. Understanding of UML and proficiency in C, C++, and/or Ada languages. The ability to support and define requirements. A history of improving teams through strong coaching and mentoring skills. Responsibilities: As the Software Project Lead (Real Time Datalink and Telemetry), I will be responsible for planning and leading a team of software engineers to deliver software for our products. I will oversee the development and testing of the DLU Software for the next generation of Missile Systems. This leadership role involves delivering embedded software on time, within budget, and to a high quality. There is significant scope to help define the functionalities of the Datalink and Telemetry units, their protocols, and technical designs. In addition, I will collaborate closely with Firmware, Systems, Hardware, and Test Engineers, as well as their respective leads.
