Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and manufacture advanced mechanical systems for weapon platforms. Support the engineering capability for wider BAE systems' defence initiatives. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project delivery meets quality and timeline expectations. Contribute to research and technology advancements within the Weapons Business Unit. Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior engineers and team members. Prepare and present technical reports and documentation as required. Job Requirements: Proficiency and significant experience as a mechanical engineer within the defence sector. Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles and engineering best practices. Experience with BAE-Mechanical engineering methodologies is highly desirable. Understanding of artillery systems, naval guns, and medium calibre weapons engineering. Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to complex technical challenges. Ability to work effectively under hybrid arrangements, managing both on-site and remote tasks. Experienced in preparing detailed technical reports and documentation. The contract is set for an initial duration of 6 months, with the possibility of extension based on project needs and performance.
