About the Role
Join our team in Bedford as a Transport Administrator, supporting our Transport Manager and Supervisors in ensuring efficient, cost-effective operations. You’ll play a key role in driver coordination, compliance, payroll processing, and fleet record management to help us deliver exceptional service.
Job Opportunity
Key Responsibilities
* Act as the first point of contact for drivers, customers, and internal teams, ensuring issues are resolved or escalated appropriately.
* Calculate, record, and report driver hours (core and agency) on a weekly basis.
* Process payroll and HR paperwork for the transport team.
* Maintain accurate records of driver hours, holidays, and sickness in relevant systems.
* Ensure tachograph compliance, accident forms, and fleet records are correctly maintained.
* Assist in recruiting drivers and transport staff alongside management and agencies.
* Support disciplinary meetings, investigations, and performance reporting.
* Ensure full compliance with transport regulations (Mail Integrity Code, Safety & Health, Dangerous Goods, Data Protection).
* Carry out general clerical duties such as filing, note-taking, and correspondence.
* Assist with daily routing, licence checks, and operational support as required.
* Build strong relationships with internal and external service providers to ensure smooth operations.
Additional Information - Days 6 am to 3 pm Monday to friday overtime opportunitues available
Essential Skills
* 2+ years' experience in a transport admin or logistics role.
* Strong communication and organisational skills.
* Ability to work independently and handle confidential information.
* Knowledge of UK & EU driving regulations, tachograph compliance, and working time directives.
* Intermediate MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
* Full UK driving licence (for occasional travel).
* Experience with Isotrak or similar telematics software (preferred).
