An exciting opportunity has arisen for a chartered Principal Civil Engineer to join a well-established and growing consultancy in Fareham. Working on one of the largest projects in the South, this role provides a chance to lead and mentor a team, manage significant projects, and engage in business development activities. Main Duties
Prepare, review, and approve technical reports, including Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, and Travel Plans.
Project manage schemes with full responsibility for budget and time management.
Oversee the development of technical drawings and prepare appeal documentation, attending as an expert witness when required.
Support and mentor team members, facilitating their career growth through training and guidance.
Engage in client liaison and business development, including attending networking events and identifying new opportunities.
Track and develop Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and lead team strategy initiatives.
Handle line management responsibilities, conducting appraisals, and setting development goals.
Prepare, check, and issue fee proposals and tenders for various projects.
Candidate Requirements
Chartered status preferred, with a degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience.
Minimum 7 years of transport planning experience, with a strong foundation in civil engineering.
Proven ability in staff training and management.
Proficiency in technical and computer-based systems, including Microsoft programs.
Demonstrable experience with modelling packages, trip generation, and transport assessment preparation.
Exceptional communication and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and delegate tasks effectively.
