Waterfall is exclusively engaged by a real estate investment management client, to appoint an Asset Manager, in their London office.
This is a UK-based real estate investment and asset management firm specialising in urban logistics, offices and value-driven strategies. With a proven track record of delivering exceptional returns, they collaborate with institutional investors, family offices, and high-net-worth individuals. Their portfolio exceeds £450m in assets under management, with over £2 billion in transactions completed. Combining expertise across asset classes with entrepreneurial asset management, they focus on identifying opportunities and creating long-term value for their partners.
Reporting to the Head of Asset Management, the Asset Manager will drive value from assets secured and under management. The role requires a strategic and proactive individual with strong financial acumen, stakeholder management skills, and market insight to optimise asset and portfolio performance. Success in this role depends on building strong relationships with market professionals, including letting agents, property managers and the tenants themselves, whilst coordinating onsite project and staying ahead of evolving market dynamics impacting on the ground, to inform and enhance investment decisions across the business.
Please note - we are advertising this role at Asset Manager level, however we would also welcome applications from candidates at Senior Surveyor level, looking to make their first move to an Asset Manager or client side role.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
* Overseeing the day-to-day running of a property portfolio, achieving individual and portfolio strategic investment objectives.
* Managing external consultants including property managers, leasing agents, building surveyor and project teams, professional advisors and solicitors.
* Liaison with internal fund accounting, analytic & bookkeeping teams to manage the portfolio.
* Ownership of asset management & property investment reporting (internal and external) to the board, lenders, IC and shareholders.
* Cashflow management and investment underwriting (Argus Enterprise, Excel).
* Support due diligence of acquisitions, sales & pipeline (acquisition) management.
Candidate Qualifications & Experience:
* Relevant Bachelor, Masters or equivalent qualification in Real Estate, Economics or related discipline.
* Ideally MRICS qualified and at least 2 years‘ PQE working in an asset management, management surveyor, property management or agency environment.
* We actively encourage Surveyor applicants who have trained through an apprenticeship route.
* Demonstrable experience managing a multi-site asset/property portfolio, ideally including industrial and office assets.
* Strong commercial awareness and high level of capability and competence with budget management.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills in preparing correspondence, submissions, presentations and reports. Confident in business systems software.
* Practical understanding of Landlord & Tenants Act, Health & Safety laws and relevant building management legislation.
