Salary: £33,366 to £49,764 per annum (Grade 6/7/9) plus essential car user and out of hours allowance
Hours: 36.66 per week
Location: Spindles Shopping Centre, George Street Oldham OL1 1HD

Role Overview:
Working with in the council’s Building Control Service. We are looking to appoint up to 3 registered building inspectors to help deliver and shape the building control service here at Oldham. If you are registered at minimum class 2a we would love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
* You will manage a range of domestic and commercial applications, contribute to the team on a wide range of related activities including dealing with dangerous structures, enforcement and advising on demolitions.
* You will train and mentor junior staff, where necessary under supervision, to ensure the service grows its talent pool and develops staff of the future.
* You will participate in an out of hours dangerous structure standby rota for which you will be paid additional monies.
* You will work within the services adopted Quality Management System, keeping records, ensuring compliance with current operating standard rules and codes of conduct.
Key Requirements:
To succeed in this role, you will need as a minimum:
* To be registered with the Building Safety Regulator at Class 2a minimum.
* To be technically competent with experience in delivering plan checking and site inspections
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively advise and support colleagues, confidence to challenge and enforce regulatory requirements where appropriate.
* A current full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
