While you work as a Nursing Associate, you will be able tofurther expand the depth and breadth of your knowledge and skills. Following successful completion of the programme, you will be awarded a degree-level equivalent qualification (level six) and can move into a role as a qualified nurse once you receive your registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Council(NMC). Applicants must be at least 1-year post Nursing Associate qualification and be interested in 'topping up' to become a Registered Nurse in 2 years. Once you have been successful at both elements, you will be offered the apprenticeship position. Main duties of the job You will train alongside a skilled team of professionals who include nurses, community matrons, specialist nurses, healthcare assistants and therapy assistants. As a Registered Nurse Degree Apprentice in Community Nursing, you will provide care to patients in their own homes, including residential homes, where appropriate. Community nurses work hard to treat patients at home so they do nothave to go into hospital unnecessarily. Nurses look after people who are housebound and who have nursing needs. They carry out a range of nursing assessments and procedures, for example, medicine administration, taking blood, dressing changes, and contributing tointegrated care.
