Rate of Pay: The annual salary will be £24,791 to £25,177 per annum

DETAILS OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Job Purpose
As part of the management team, to assist the Facility Manager/Assistant Operations Manager in the smooth and efficient running of the Centre acting as the Duty Officer in charge on a rota basis to include evenings, weekends, bank holidays and unsocial hours etc.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
1. To supervise employees under his/her control, allocate tasks and ensure that the appearance,
attitude and general conduct of staff is in accordance with the Centres regulations.
To assist with the training of staff where appropriate.
2. To supervise all areas of the facility on a regular basis to ensure customer satisfaction,
safety and cleanliness.
3. To be responsible for public order in the facility taking action to minimise vandalism
and for the general security of facility including responding to emergency call outs as a
nominated key holder.
4. To assist with the identification, reporting and follow up action in relation to
maintenance and safety checks within the centre.
5. To undertake any general administrative duties that may be required, including the ordering
of supplies, preparation of statistical records, stock control and rosta's and the completion of report forms.
6. To undertake Reception and/or Leisure Attendant duties during busy times or in case of emergency,
staff sickness or holiday periods, outside of a Duty Officer role.
7. To be responsible for opening, closing and general security of the facility at the appropriate times
and ensuring that all public areas are set up and ready for use.
8. To be responsible for ensuring that all relevant staff adhere to cash reconciliation and banking
procedures correctly and all monies are securely deposited.
9. To deal promptly and efficiently with all customer comments and complaints.
To log all such information and ensure problems are followed up and resolved where necessary.
10. To ensure that correct atmospheric conditions are maintained in the centre and to
report variations that cannot be resolved at the time.
11. To take an active part in the promotion of the facility, ie compilation of posters,
leaflets etc, liaison with schools, community groups, clubs etc.
12. To assist with the day-to-day operation of the facility programme,
liasing with users and organising bookings/events etc.
13. Be familiar with all emergency and evacuation procedures, the role of the postholder
and the responsibilities of others should an incident occur.
14. Responsible for maintenance of pool plant operations including regular water quality tests,
backwashing and taking corrective action as required.
15. To administer First-Aid as and when necessary and to be an appointed First Aider for the
facility, appropriate to the postholders level of competence.
16. Observe the BPL's Health and Safety Policies in accordance with current Health and Safety
legislation and report any situation likely to cause accident/injury or likely to render the
buildings, structures, plant or equipment unsafe.
17. As directed by the Facility Manager, be responsible for a specific area
(e.g. Swimming Lessons, Fitness) and provide regular feedback to the site FM.
And any other duties commensurate with the grade and falling within the scope of the post, as requested by Management.
