Job Overview
Aneurin Bevan University Health Board is looking to recruit an experienced Nurse Practitioner to work within the Medical Assessment Unit based in Ysbty Ystrad Fawr.
Using effective triage skills, successful candidates will help to deliver safe and evidence-based care. As an Independent Prescriber, successful applicants will become part of the existing multidisciplinary team, assessing and responding to appropriate patients who require urgent care advice and further treatment. This may involve immediate interventions and onward referral.
Main duties of the job
1. Triage assessing all clinical conditions
2. Autonomous decision making
3. Face-to-face consultations and autonomous decision making in relation to appropriate care and treatments
4. Other clinical and leadership duties along with service developments as per Job description.

Qualifications / Knowledge
Essential criteria
* Level 1 Registered Nurse
* Current NMC Registration
* Masters level education or working towards it, or demonstrable equivalent knowledge and experience
* Independent Prescriber
* Evidence of ongoing development and ability to encourage change management
Desirable criteria
* Post Registration Degree
* Teaching, Mentorship or Coaching qualification
Experience
Essential criteria
* Significant experience as a registered practitioner
* Evidence of ongoing development and ability to encourage change management
* Risk assessment and DATIX training
* Safeguarding of budgetary restraints
