We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated professional to join the School Admissions Team within Middlesbrough Council’s Access to Education department. You will provide a range of administrative support, helping to ensure that Middlesbrough’s children, families, and schools enjoy a swift and smooth service from the Local Authority. You will support the school admissions process for ‘in year transfers’ and the usual annual round of school admissions by talking to parents and Headteachers, processing applications, dealing with queries, offering advice, maintaining meticulous records, producing reports as required and ensuring that strict deadlines are adhered to. The successful candidate will be a confident and accomplished communicator, have excellent IT skills, a willingness to learn and a strong desire to offer an outstanding service. Experience of working within a school admissions environment would be an advantage but is not essential, however you will need to be able to demonstrate extensive administrative experience and be accustomed to working in a busy environment, under pressure and to tight deadlines and be able to prioritise and multitask is essential to the role. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with the ambition and skills to support us in our shared goal of providing an outstanding level of service. We offer a blended working arrangement where some of your work may be carried out at home. If you are passionate about improving children’s life chances and enjoy working at a fast pace, you may be the right person for us.
