Hi everyone, I'm Mat, the Community Operational Manager for Paediatrics in CCICP. I would love to tell you about an opportunity that we have for a Highly Specialised Paediatric Occupational Therapist to come and join our amazing Paediatric Therapy team in CCICP!
We are looking for a highly skilled, motivated and enthusiastic clinician, who has extensive experience of working with children and young people. The post holder would work primarily within community settings, including nurseries, schools, domiciliary and clinic settings, supporting children, young people and their families who have complex needs across the locality of South Cheshire and Vale Royal.
You will play a pivotal role in service development for both the OT and wider paediatric therapy service with dedicated time supported for this. You will lead on our OT Peer Group and set agendas/workplans using Quality Improvement Methodology.
The post holder will also be responsible for providing peer support to our other Occupational Therapists within the team, and will work closely alongside multiple members of the MDT to achieve the best outcomes for Children and young people locally.
Main duties of the job
1. To undertake highly specialist clinical assessment, taking into account all relevant information and clinical reasoning to formulate evidence based individualised treatment plans in agreement with the patient
2. To work autonomously to manage a defined highly complex patient caseload whilst working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
3. To monitor progress and review treatment plans and interventions to facilitate the achievement of goals
4. Liaison and education of parents, and implementation of enhanced communication skills to manage situations with empathy
5. To contribute to the delivery of the service in a variety of defined clinical settings, which may involve schools and the patient's home.
6. To implement highly specialist individual and/or group interventions for patients with diverse presentations and highly complex needs.
7. Work alongside AHP colleagues to enhance AHP Service delivery, and coordinate care in a Multidisciplinary approach
8. Ongoing CPD through training opportunities and liaison with colleagues in the North West network
9. To play an active role in service development, working alongside the leadership team to help implement strategic objectives
10. To provide expert peer support to other clinicians within the Paediatric Therapy team
