An exciting opportunity has arisen for three Analytics Officers/Analytics Business Partners to join our team as we expand our skills and knowledge into predictive analytics.
Your starting grade is dependent on your previous experience; please see the person specification for more information. We are looking to appoint two posts that will support most departments across the council. A third post will specifically support adult social care, which will be on a permanent basis.
The post will be aligned to our homelessness and domestic abuse services which are part of Accessing Change Together (ACT) Middlesbrough. These roles are perfect if you’re already working in a data analysis environment and want to widen your professional growth. While an understanding of Local Government analytics is preferable, it’s not essential.
Are you passionate about gathering and scrutinising data, looking for trends, and understanding what the data means? Do you love finding out what’s happening, why it’s happening, what will happen in the future, and what we need to do? Well, so do we!
You will be specifically working with all levels of the organisation, including our senior management team. You will need to be confident, focused, and able to collect requirements, design, and build business intelligence solutions to meet the needs of the programme.
What you will be doing:
1. Reporting and dashboarding to create data visualisations and predictive analytics.
2. Using Power BI and Alteryx to collaborate on reporting data, identify and solve problems, and develop a whole system approach.
3. Facilitating data extraction with external agencies, using data to map ‘as is’ processes, identify opportunities to improve, and map the ‘to be’ processes to support programme improvement.
4. Working alongside senior managers to support Strategic Needs Assessments, including gathering, analysing, and interpreting data as well as providing narrative and conclusions.
You will be:
1. Highly experienced in the use of technology and have experience with related software, including Power BI, ETL tools (ideally Alteryx), SQL, and Excel. Confident, articulate, and able to adapt your approach to suit your audience.
2. Passionate about data analytics.
3. Focused on detail, with excellent analytical skills and delivering the required products and results.
4. An excellent communicator, creative, and adaptive in your approach.
5. Creative and proactive, contributing towards changes and seeking improvements.
In return, we can offer you the chance to work in a new state-of-the-art building, with a blend of home working (if that’s what you want). There is a strong offer of training and development opportunities, and we have family-friendly policies, flexible hours, generous annual leave, an electric car scheme, various employee discounts and benefits, plus that all-important great pension.
If you want any further information regarding this role, please speak to Victoria Holmes on 01642 728106 or Dee Evans on 01642 728636.
Please note this post is subject to a Baseline Personnel Security Standard Check, which includes a Verification of Criminal Record check (unspent convictions only).
